As an Army Welfare Worker, you will play a vital role in providing confidential specialist welfare support while receiving structured training towards a professionally recognised Level 5 qualification. This role combines meaningful frontline work with long-term career development within the Ministry of Defence.
As an AWW, you will assist serving members and their families by offering a discreet and professional support service. This encompasses the entire range of challenges that may impact Service Personnel; these consist of (but are not limited to) relationship problems, separation, domestic violence, safeguarding, grief, and loss.
AWS aims to enhance the resilience of individuals and families by directly working with, collaborating with pertinent civilian and MOD providers, and engaging with the Chain of Command to optimise the operational efficiency of service members.
Work closely with the relevant civilian agencies to promote collaboration and ensure information is shared in line with established policy.
Prepare Welfare Recommendation reports for the Produce Specialist when needed, or when requested by Units, making sure they comply with AGAI 81 guidelines.
Provide high-quality Specialist Welfare (SW) casework support to eligible Service Members and their families.
Act as a Placement Mentor for trainee AWWs when required, making sure to complete any relevant training beforehand.
Provide advice and support on welfare matters to the Chain of Command, including attending relevant meetings and delivering briefings or presentations as needed.
Work in line with recognised best practice guidance issued by relevant professional bodies, applying it consistently in day-to-day responsibilities.
Take part in regular professional supervision with your assigned supervisor, in line with AWS policy, and engage fully in the process to support your ongoing development.
In all of the situations outlined above, you are expected to act in line with relevant MOD policies and procedures, follow AWS Standard Operating Instructions (SOI), and uphold the Army Code of Confidentiality at all times.
