You don’t need any medical experience or formal qualifications—what matters most is your friendly, flexible attitude and your ability to help donors feel welcome, comfortable, and appreciated. We’ll provide all the training you need to carry out this important role with confidence.
Be flexible and available to work on a bank basis. This means covering shifts, including evenings and weekends. You will also need to work on bank holidays when required.
You will travel to locations to collect blood. You might use a company vehicle or your own car. Some journeys can take up to 2 hours.
Each day you will set up. Pack down equipment. This includes loading and unloading items. You may need to handle objects weighing up to 13 kg.
As part of the team, you will handle blood bags and other equipment safely.
Your role is also about making donors feel welcome. You will greet them. Help with refreshments after they donate. This will ensure they feel comfortable and valued.
