An exciting opportunity is available for a Health and Safety Advisor to join HMS Collingwood, one of the Royal Navy’s key training establishments. The position assists the HMS Collingwood Health, Safety and Environmental Protection Manager in delivering expert guidance, assurance, and support to the Commanding Officer regarding all elements of health, safety, fire, environmental protection, fire safety measures, and radiation safety management at HMS Collingwood, its tenant units, and outstations. Maintenance and management of HSEP online filing systems.
Assist the HSEP Manager during meetings, training sessions, assurance visits, briefings, rounds, and audits.
Maintain registers of key safety personnel.
Give safety and health advice with a particular focus on fire safety.
Support the arrangement of events similar to Bonfire Night and Open Day.
Functional director overseeing the two SZ3 Fire Safety Maintainers.
Help with overseeing safety reports, which encompass incidents, near misses, and data on fire alarm activations.
Assist in gathering and submitting health and safety documents and reports, especially the Fire Safety Management Plan, surveys, and audit findings.
The individual in this role is anticipated to stay updated on pertinent MoD and national health and safety policies and guidelines.

Candidates must possess or be willing to pursue at least a NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety and show an interest, along with experience in fulfilling Health and Safety duties pertinent to CWD H&S Advisor tasks.
You must be a member of or open to joining a recognised safety organisation (such as HSE, IOSH, NEBOSH, or the British Safety Council). The ideal candidate will possess knowledge of Health and Safety elements related to building management and should be skilled in utilising Microsoft Office software.
