We are looking for a passionate and patient-focused Staff Nurse to join our Discharge Lounge team at Wexham Park Hospital. The Discharge Lounge is essential for maintaining hospital flow by offering a safe, comfortable space for patients waiting to go home. In your role as a Staff Nurse in the Discharge Lounge, you will work closely with the Discharge Team, Site Managers, and the ward team to enable smooth discharges of care that are patient-focused.

To be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care with minimal supervision.
To carry out all administrative and nursing duties as delegated by the team leader and senior sister.

For the essential criteria, the candidate must be a Registered General Nurse or have pending NMC Registration. For the desirable criteria, completion of a dementia course or attendance at relevant study days will be considered an added advantage.
For the essential criteria, candidates should have recent experience working within a healthcare setting, demonstrate awareness of current professional nursing issues, and show commitment to their own professional development. For the desirable criteria, experience in caring for elderly patients with dementia and previous experience managing patients with chronic medical conditions will be considered an advantage.
For the essential criteria, candidates must demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills, strong interpersonal abilities, and the capacity to manage difficult or stressful situations professionally. They should be able to prioritise their own workload as well as that of others, meet deadlines, and show strong time management and delegation skills.
